The project
Our client is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centers in safety-critical environments.
The client specializes in developing and distributing 'Control Centre Solutions' for the Air Traffic Management and Public Safety & Transport sectors.
We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Automation Engineer to strengthen our clients automation and security hardening capabilities. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain automated solutions for deploying and hardening Windows 11 Workspaces and Windows Server 2025 environments, following CIS Benchmarks at different compliance levels.
This role requires expertise in DevOps and automation tools as well as strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and security configuration. The engineer will work closely with product, project, and security teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and secure infrastructure deployments across the organization.
Type of contract: B2B for 6 months (possible extension)

Job requirements
Your tasks:
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for deploying and hardening Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 according to CIS Level 1 and Level 2 benchmarks.
Automate Windows Server and Active Directory configuration, security baselines, and operational tasks.
Integrate automation workflows with DevOps toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
Collaborate with security experts to implement CIS-based controls and compliance monitoring.
Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and training for standardized automation practices.
Support troubleshooting, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of automated deployment frameworks.
Contribute to ICC’s mission of standardization, knowledge sharing, and infrastructure resilience across Frequentis SBUs and projects.
What we expect from you:
Strong experience with Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025) and Windows 11 administration.
Hands-on expertise in automation and scripting tools:
Ansible (playbook development for Windows)
PowerShell (Windows automation & security)
Python (scripting and integration)
Jenkins (CI/CD automation
Solid understanding of Active Directory configuration, automation, and hardening.
Practical knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and security hardening practices.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts and DevOps workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
Good communication and documentation skills (English required, German an advantage).
Nice to have:
Experience with other automation/configuration management tools
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., WAZUH, Zabbix).
Knowledge with Databases (i.e. Postgres) and/or search and analytics search engine (i.e. OpenSearch)
